A Better Future for Rural Health in Aotearoa New Zealand
Election Day is drawing closer, and we are keen to help our members, and rural stakeholders cast an informed vote based on Party commitments to rural health initiatives.

We have offered the opportunity for the four bigger parties to put forward a health spokesperson to discuss their party's plan and vision for rural health over the next 3 – 10 years.

>> Labour Party: Hon Chris Hipkins
>> National Party: Dr Shane Reti
>> Green Party: Hon Julie Anne Genter
>> NZ First Party: Jenny Marcroft
>> Moderator: Professor Ngaire Kerse

The Health and Disability System Review, coordinated by Heather Simpson, spells out that rural health outcomes are poor and need a focused effort and that "the rural population often feels they are invisible to the urban decisionmakers."

Each panellist will have five minutes to express their vision for creating a better future for rural health, followed by a Q&A session .

There will be audience chat and Q&A, or if you wish to submit a question in advance, please email marie@rgpn.org.nz
